Availability, Booking and Rescheduling

So our focus remains on taking care of clients, all clients are highly encouraged to view availability, schedule, reschedule and cancel their own appointments online at methodbodywork.com or within the Vagaro app. This self-service expectation is almost always quicker than the back and forth of text messaging or leaving a voicemail and waiting for a return call.

If your scheduling needs require our focused attention, please send a text message to (562) 841-8019.  Include your name, desired services and a two to three dates and times you are available to come in. We will do our best to accommodate you. Please know that we will apply a small fee to your next session for this accommodation and convenience.

For additional details regarding the allowances afforded you for cancelling and rescheduling appointments, view our Cancellation Policy.

Massage Services Comparison

Not sure which massage service is right for you? While the overwhelming majority of our clients enjoyer Unwind offering, you may view a comparison of what we offer here.

Payments

Method Bodywork requires a card on file with our payment processor to hold your appointment. This card is not charged unless you do not show for your appointment or cancel your appointment outside of the acceptable cancellation allowance in our Cancellation Policy. While you may use this card to pay for your session, please bring the card with you to your appointment. In addition to payments by Credit and Debit card, Method Bodywork accepts payments in cash (exact change) and via Venmo and Zelle.

If you choose to park in the parking structure of the building, please note that we do not validate. The fee for parking in the structure is $12 and paid at the kiosk as you exit the garage.  The kiosk accepts cash only and does not provide change.

Amenities

All in-studio bodywork services include filtered water. A selection of hot herbal teas is available upon request. Our Relax, Unwind and Learn sessions include warmed organic lotion, hot towels, hot stone treatments, and our Exclusive Essential Oil Blends. A shower*, bathrobe and slippers is available for use before and after your session (*time permitting and/or with advanced notice).

If your appointment will be performed on our plush massage table, we heat it to 98.6 degrees, by default. Please let us know if you prefer an alternate temperature or no heat at all.

The studio is equipped with two HEPA-13 air filters and is cleaned using hospital-grade disinfectants prior to each clients arrival.

Disrobing

Disrobing (and to what level) is one of the most common questions that never gets asked. Don’t get caught up in your thoughts! The correct answer is – Disrobe to whatever level you are comfortable with. Some clients feel more comfortable leaving their undergarments on while others like to go au natural! Embarrassed by your feet? Leave your socks on. Have a third eye? A beanie will cover that up; no problem. With the exception of the clean sheets, towels and blankets you are provided to cover up with, any part of the body covered by an article of clothing generally means that area will not be worked on. You can also make your desires known by filling out your New Client Onboarding form and/or by letting me know in person.

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable enough to relax and feel taken care of. The second thing to consider is that most bodywork relies on the use of oils, scents (in the form of essential oils and incense), and in the case of our hot towel treatments, moisture; don’t wear anything on the table that you would not want getting damaged.

Finally, rest assured I have seen and worked with big ones, little ones, hot ones, cold ones, smooth ones, furry ones, dry ones and moist ones. I’m happy to work with whatever you’ve got.

Hygene

Bodywork, in part, involves an intimate physical connection between individuals. To ensure your therapist is able to provide you with a true full body session, good hygiene is key. Plan to shower before coming to your session and be sure to clean everywhere!

Remember that bodywork involves rubbing; everywhere. Avoid applying deodorant, cologne or other scented products as the rubbing will spread whatever you have on your skin. No one needs deodorant on their hands, or worse, cologne on their eyelids. Ouch!

Talking

As with disrobing, there is no “standard” when it comes to whether or not to talk during your session. Most clients chat with their therapist at the beginning of the session, then as they drift into bliss, enter meditative states and the conversation subsides. That said, if you need to check out from reality, there is no expectation that you talk with your therapist.

It should be stated that, regardless of your desire to chat, you should always speak up and tell your therapist if you have any questions or experience pain or discomfort during your session so your therapist can modify your session as necessary.
